my birthday!

quick birthday post!

what can i say, awesome birthday. water rafting down rapids in the morning, which was awessssome. i fell out when we hit into a rock, and lost a chunk of my skin from a finger, went down 7m waterfalls, did 'surfing' ahhh, it was so good. Definitely a highlight of the tour (black water rafting was soso).

Then we went to Argodome or something, and did swooping and sweebing. Swooping is basically a giant swing, except it was pretty high up and pretty harliarious with a guy I did it with. He screamed the whole way down, it was so good. Sweebing is some weird bicycle device, and you race times around the track, also good fun but my legs died on the fourth laps.

Then my new friends gave me a birthday cake surprise and shouted happy birthday at me the whole day to publically humuliate me. They're an awesome bunch, thanks guys.

I promise I'll get around to photos one day but I keep running out of time. I just remembered I need to check my Allocate to see if it's done so I'll write more later.

a shoutover from NZ

hey guys,

first off, why are none of you online when I come on?

second off, it's AMAZING here. man falling in love with new zealand. I was going to just upload photos but I left my camera connection at the lodge, along with my dirty laundry that I was suppose to wash =_=

I'm currently at tauronga (not sure of spelling), north island. we got to the coast for our free day weekend. Currently most of the aussies are out drinking, I joined them for one jagerbomb, but it's so expensive and I need to keep a closer eye on my money.

Anyway, just a quick rundown on what I've been doing the past week. Mostly been doing track making and 'releasing' (another word for weeding) at bird sancturies and rainforests. It's been such a great experience. We have a tour guide and a native driver/guide and they are just full of so much information. It's such a great way to explore the country, really. NZ has some beautiful things.

we've been going to waterholes after work as well, cause it's bloody hot over here. Applying sunscreen x5 a day is normal for me now lol. but swimming in natural water is soooo choice (NZ slang for nice). I love it, and I've been jumping off high cliffs to prep myself for bungie jumping.

um, the people are really nice, like minded. Saw a bit of their 'real' selves tonight though, they're all so aussie lol. Oh, and two americans are with us as well, who are really interesting to talk with ahha. The first three hours on the bus were us interogating them about differences about america and australia foods.

anyway, missing you guys. I dunno if I can survive the four weeks, although this week seem to really pick up near the end. I'll upload my pictures next time hopefully. Missing DDR too ling =[ hope all is well over there.

off we go.

and off we go, to new zealand and beyond.

I haven't even finished packing yet lol, I'm scared I'm going to get back from work tonight and find out I'm over the luggage limit or something. But I'll work something out haha. I'm pretty excited now, I didn't realise it was so soon.

I met up with my trio of first years (who will now be promoted to my 2nd year friends), ca, sassy and lil. I must say, they are pretty awesome =] we ended up playing a lot of different card games, learning some new ones like shithead, seven up, 500, brought out the ol pictionary set and war'd against each other. Brunch extended all the way til 6pm haha.

also went to workmate's poker, which I hadn't been in awhile. Forgot how pro they play, and how very noob I am. Ended up having to buy in three times within the first hour, but I somehow managed to make it all back by the end of the night haha. lucky.

I think some of my issues this week comes from expecting too much from my close friends. Even though I spend more time with them, doesn't mean 1. they feel the have the same obligation that I feel 2. they have to fulfil what my expectation of being friends are. Maybe when I come back, I'll bring those expectations down, forget and forgive in my mind and see how I go.

For those who don't know, I'm heading off to New Zealand for four weeks under International Student Volunteers (ISV) group. 2 weeks volunteer work mostly conservation environment stuff, and then 2 weeks adventure tour. Looking forward to bungee jumping, maybe sky diving, blackwater rafting, glow worms and baby kiwis =]

This will be my last post before I head off, so I hope everyone has a safe January and enjoys my absence. I'll try and email those I think will care about my trip =P and maybe upload some photos. When I get back, I'll also be 20! woo. I feel old. =[

take care,
teoh.

overload

I've just heard about some changes that will take place this year.. I hadn't been too focused on 2010 to be honest. I was more concerned about present holiday items..going out, new computer, christmas etc. but now that I think about it, so many things are going to be different.

people are moving, changing, my normal routines are going to be changed by different factors (now that I have a car especially). I hate change, although I've come to accept that some are necessary for my life to either improve or progress.

I have to be more focused on my career soon as well..3rd year is usually when we do work experience, and it's most likely what I enter this year is what I'll be doing end of next year.

my sister won't be here. some of my friends are moving away, workmates moving off to other places. workplace will most likely change, which might get me being not renewed. ugh.

my head really hurts. I've had so many things to think about. I actually don't want to go New Zealand at the moment. I want to sort everything out. I need a waterfall to meditate under.

teoh,
